The Lipman-Miliband Trust funded research for this 2023 public history project, capturing the history of anti-racist organising in South Asian communities and the South Asian workers’ movements involved in numerous industrial disputes during late 20th century. This involved interviews with former members of the Asian Youth Movements, Indian and Pakistani Workers’ Associations and those involved in industrial disputes, as well as accessing archive materials. While the project was originally intended to result in an online archive, Taj was approached by publishers and signed a book deal with Manchester University Press. The book will be published in 2025.
